“Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough.”
– Mark Twain –

What is Single Malt Whisky?
According to the Scotch Whisky Regulations of the United Kingdom, a “single malt Scotch whisky” must be made exclusively from malted barley, distilled in pot stills in a single distillery, and matured for at least three years in oak casks with a maximum capacity of 700 litres.
Although many people associate highly esteemed single malt whisky with Scotland, some of the best whiskies are also produced in Scandinavia, Japan and even Germany.
Why do different single malts have their own character?
224 Spirits of Excellence have two whiskies that couldn’t be more different. The Doublewood excels with its fruity flavour, which pampers your palate thanks to the mild processing of the malt and the finish in the mature port cask. The single cask has a distinctly Scottish character due to its smokey aroma.
